Future technology is possible.

What’s your vision of future technology. A special series from Discovery Channel, try to visualize what our scientist, designers, inventors thought of future inventions. A review on second episode. Full list of episode. This stories is tell from the point of view of a boy named Paul. Let’s skip the stories and stick to the technologies.

From everyday household gadgets to much much more advanced cyberpet. This new technology emphasize on human interaction-less and the concept of always-online. By utilizing wireless technology, “Internet everywhere” connects everything that bear technology name on it. Be it a toothbrush, electrical appliance or even mirror. Everything is “wired” from wall to wall, making a city a one giant network of connections.

All these technologies interactive with each other without human intervention. While brushing your teeth, data collected by your magic toothbrush will be analyzed and displayed on mirror. So you’d know when to stop or untouched spot. Vehicles has been redesign. Instead of driving, you are being driven by a centralized system. Physical appearance has change as well. Side movement is now possible with this new design. Vehicles has shrunk to become more friendly with limited parking space. There will be no more traffic jams. In fact, “traffic jam” term no longer applies to transportation but to data transaction. Internet will be overwhelmed and new wave of Internet will arise, using satellite communication leaving fiber optic technologies way behind.

Part that I find most interesting is holographic images. These featured technologies is far- far better that what we’ve seen on Star Wars or Star Trek. This time, it’s actually make sense. Image projected is 360° viewable and in3D! Screen will become obsolete. You can touch, interact and they could even speak! Way cooler that having a Wakamaru!

Let us all hope that these new philosophy or technology bring more good than harm. I wonder what Malaysia will look like when we celebrate our 100th Independence Day. A much better question is whether we’re able to see ‘em.

People who does read this, happen to read these as well.
