When I’m applying for a position in a company, they gave me a series of get-to-know type of questions. They didn’t say its P&C, so I guess no wrong doing for publishing ‘em. If they say so, I might have to take it down. So better take a look fast!!!

1. When and how did you learn to program?
For static web programming as early as Form1, the first time i went on the Net.
2. What drew you to programming?
The Net. I wanna make my presence on the net. But still haven’t quite accomplish yet. I need fresh ideas.
3. Are there any books you think every programmer should read?
Does eBooks counts? Basically I’m more into For Dummies and Sam’s Teach Yourselves series.
4. What was your first programming language?
HTML
5. How do you test your code?
Mostly try and error.
6. How do you tackle understanding a new (to you) piece of code, particularly a large system?
Do test run. Try to visualize the function. Cause and effect.
7. If someone comes to you and says, “I want to learn how to program”, what do you tell them?
How great you are on logical thinking? if you’re really great, you’re a born programmer! Beside that, is passion that really counts.
8. What skill, related to programming, do you wish you had that you don’t?
Color matching. If you gave me the pleasure of choosing my own color palette, it would be desasterous. 
9. What do you do to improve your skill as a programmer (or web developer, whichever you like your title to be)?
I’d like to take a course on HCI to tackle my UI skill.
10. What do you read to improve your knowledge of programming, computer science, design, etc.
There are a few forums and tutorials that I’m always referring to when needed.
11. What do you read that’s not related to programming?
I’m subscribing a few blogs on tech review. Mostly web2.0, gadgets, software and hardware.
12. What tools do you use every day? every week?
Besides firefox, i use dreamweaver/notepad++. But as for now, still haven’t found great tools for ajax besides GWT+eclipse but my Java’s not that good.
13. Suppose you are starting out on a new project. Describe what you do.
For design purpose, nothings beat mind map. Flow chart is a really great way to visualize your design. Draw a mind map followed by flow chart. Make sure to create section for each function there is. Then let your skill do the magic.
14. How consistent are you about your code formatting? Do you have your own guideline or do you use some other guideline?
I never really look for standard guideline but i follow my own de facto. Don’t know whether its web compliant or not. Better check it next time.
15. Do you play computer games? If you do, name the games (top 5) and which game do you like most and why.
- Frozen Throne mod - DotA
The most interesting game on earth (well, after WoW of course). various gameplay. Fav hero - syllabear - C&C series.
Simple RTS approach. Still haven’t try tiberium wars though. Should have list it no 3. - All time fav, counter strike
Instant action, time filler. - NFS series
Still downloading(shh) ProStreet. Done! The rest of the serious awesome. I’d love to play with cars, when I have extra cash. Until that, NFS do the trick. - Minesweeper
I had to list it. I think lagi susah then sudoku although sudoku is hip right now.
Im not an avid gamer, just casual gamer. As you can see, all these games come from different genre.

Too bad when I actually went for the interview, I stucked on a very (relatively) easy questions regarding database relationship. Stupid me! As a matter of fact, that interview session turned into classroom when the interviewee keen enough to make sure I know this stuff he was talking about. I’m glad he did that. That “relationship” thingy get embedded in my central lobe from that point on. Thanks sir.
Reality check : I didn’t get the position (suspected mainly because lack of database exposé)

Seriyes la. Ni bukan typical software house. Ni production house yg focus pade multimedia. Ade sket je selit web development. Office pun sempoi. Pakai jeans je.
